U.S. 1860 CAVALRY SABER AND
U.S. 1860 CAVALRY SABER AND SCABBARDA nice 1860 cavalry saber by Emerson & Silver of Trenton, New Jersey, dated 1864. The grip is excellent, and the blade is quite nice, although it has a single nick in the cutting edge. The scabbard is complete, but is in relic condition. The number 54 is stamped on the guard. Dimensions: the blade is 34.75 inches long and the sword is 42 inches long overall. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
The saber is extremely nice, other than a single nick in the cutting edge. The maker’s name and inspectors’ stamp are somewhat worn, but still clear. The grip is excellent, with all its original leather and wire, and there is a crack in the grip leather on the reverse side. There is some verdigris on the knuckle bow. US 1860 LIGHT CAVALRY SABER REPLICA
US 1860 LIGHT CAVALRY SABER REPLICA W/ SCABBARD A nicely made replica of the Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber used by Union forces during the Civil War. The sword features a 36" curved blade mounted to a bronze wrap-around hand-guard hilt and wire-wrapped leather grip. The sword has only one marking of a Knight's Helmet on the right hand side just above the hilt. The scabbard appears as if it could be a genuine Civil-War era piece, however, as it has the distinctive solder line along the blade edge. The sword is in overall good condition with some minor damage to the leather grip and light rust spots near the base, the scabbard has surface rust throughout.
