GILT BRASS & CHAMPLEVé MANTLE CLOCK, LATE 19TH C.A very good late 19th century gilt brass and champleve mantle clock, the bow fronted and glass panelled case sided by champleve inlaid columns beneath a champleve inlaid dome and frieze, housing a circular dial with a gilt chapter ring and black Arabic numerals within a conforming champleve surround, the signed Japy Frere 8 day dual train movement fitted with a mercury compensating pendulum, the strike mechanism signaling the half and full hour on a coiled gong, raised overall upon four adjustable supports. In working condition with an associated key. Minor flake to front glass panel. Height, 14".
