THREE (3) POWDER HORNS AND THREE
THREE (3) POWDER HORNS AND THREE (3) BELT PLATES The horns as follows: the largest one (22-1/2 in.) is etched with scenes of marauding Indian warriors in a landscape; plus... a second horn (14 in.) is etched "Charls Town" over a view of the city and has a decorative cartouche reading, "Charles Salzhauer / His Horn / ANNO 1928"; the last horn is the oldest and is plain cow horn with some utilitarian carving, but no decoration (1/2 in. worm hole to side); plus... three Civil War style belt plates as follows: the US oval is a re-enactor plate; the M1851 plate with silver wreath is a reproduction; the M1851 plate without silvering is likely authentic to the post Civil War era.

Contemporary Hunting Bag and Powder Horn by Judd Brennan This bag measures 8'' x 10'' with long leather strap. Engraved 11'' powder horn with eagle and shield and hunting warrior. Judson J. Brennan was born in Lansing Michigan where he developed an interest in early American long rifles especially the beautiful and artistic flintlock rifles that were hand-made by artisans during the Golden Age of American frontier craftsmanship. Condition: Excellent.

Early American Tansel Powder Horn
Early American Tansel Powder Horn 16'' length. Engraved with the Eagle clutching arrows and sheaths of wheat E. Pluribus Unum in a banner above the eagle a hunter (i.e. the ''Buckskinner'') hunting deer. Nice serpent's mouth with the teeth carved protruding on to the spout. This particular horn has been nicknamed the ''Buckskinner's powder horn.'' Interesting it has a screw top wood base with iron loop and another iron loop near the spout. One large brass tack has been in the base of the horn for a long time it has a beautiful dark brown halo around it. Condition: Horn is in excellent condition with a nice untouched yellow patina.
